Spring at BEAWorld 2005

I was in San Jose last week and spent the first half focused on BEAWorld, where BEA and Interface21 showed off the fruits of the collaboration announced a few months ago at JavaOne.

I had a blast talking to people about Spring on WLS, and taking part in a panel discussion one day and a technical session the next, both of which were heavily attended. While there’s already been a lot of use of Spring on WebLogic, the announcement that BEA is endorsing and certifying the use of Spring on WLS and offering 24×7 support, along with the release of console enhancements and sample code such as the new MedRec app, got a lot of people excited.

On Wed. night, BEA actually rented out an entire theme park for a private party for conference attendees. It was very cool to be able to stroll up to the roller coasters, without any lineup, and immediately get on the first car. I’m looking forward to the day when Interface21 will be big enough to rent a theme park :-)
