Spring Framework 1.2RC1 Released

I’m very pleased to announce that Spring Framework 1.2RC1 is now available for download! Thanks again to Juergen for all the gruntwork packaging things up.

While this is only a Release Candidate, and you can expect (despite the name) that at least one or two other Release Candiate builds will come out before 1.2 final, it may be considered stable and quite usable for development.

There are a number of new features as described here, but my favorites are probably the Hibernate 3 support, the JMX support, and support for using JDK 1.5 (Java 5) Annotations for demarcating transaction semantics and for exposing objects via JMX.

Also keep an eye out for the first packaged (preview) release of Spring Web Flow, expected in a day or two. This is not going to be part of 1.2, but will be shipped in paralllel.
